Under current restrictions, people who can work from home are still encouraged to do so, however that is likely to change in June when the government hopes to end all social distancing restrictions.
But as the lockdown ‘roadmap’ continues to progress, it seems many employees will not resume work patterns as they were before the pandemic.
Polls/surveys have revealed that many of the biggest employers do not intend to return to full-time office working, with many implementing ‘hybrid working’ policies for their employees.
Hybrid working will see workers encouraged to split their time between home and office working, with staff encouraged to work from home two to three days a week.
The reaction to this news is mixed as there are pros and cons - but it seems the traditional 9-5 office job could be on its way out.
