Do you need to pay the data protection fee?
A number of our clients have recently received a letter from the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) regarding the requirement to pay an annual data protection fee (usually £40 or £60). This is something that many businesses are unaware of, but may be something you need to pay.
You must pay a data protection fee to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you’re a business, organisation or sole trader processing personal data, unless you’re exempt.
By going through the questions on the link below you will be able to decide if you – as an individual or on behalf of your business or organisation – need to pay a fee to the ICO.
